Fostering local content providers in Malaysia

With the launch of the Maxis Video Portal in, Wavenet collaborated with local content partners to give rise to a vibrant VAS culture in Malaysia.

The current mobile telecommunications landscape is a highly crowded, intensively competitive one, where operators are waging war on the price front rather than on the service front; a scenario where all parties concerned end up losing. The way forward is to differentiate and stratify their service portfolio and offer customers creative and exciting services which will enhance, enliven and enrich their experience. The Wavenet Spark suite of voice and video VAS solutions helps operators achieve just that.

Wavenet’s IP Media Server is a media and signaling gateway that acts as the central node of communication with the operator while serving various application vendors enabing them to build services on top of the IP Media Server platform. While interfacing the operator over SIP and SIP-I standards from the back end, the IPMS front-end interfaces various application providers over VoiceXML 2.0/2.1 and CCXML 1.0 open standards.

IP Media Server holds the capability to be deployed in legacy networks with the legacy converter module where an operator can do away with it once they move towards NGN and IMS Architectures.
