Once infrastructure decisions are made, the natural, next step is to empower a telco to dynamically manage applications that provide key functionality required for operate. Wavenet has incorporated the best of its existing uVAS platform with capabilities of K8s to enable Telcos to manage both messaging and media related application services in scalable manner that allows further pods to be added when traffic grows or shut down pods that are not required. It also assists in managing redundancies by spinning-up pods and containers inside a different node within the cluster, in case of failures. Along with a robust CI/CD pipeline, any new feature releases, security patches etc. can be easily implemented in the running services with minimal impact.

Ensuring VAS services are orchestrated better, faster and resilient

Kubernetes-based technology is used frequently in the orchestration of applications of containers and is rapidly gaining popularity in terms of use by developers, as its underlying components such as pods and containers being super easy to manage.

Automated deployments through CI/CD

kVAS deployed in k8 clusters running on a Telco Cloud environment allows for feature updates or release upgrades to Docker images to be implemented in running pods with minimal effort. This is in stark contrast to how previous releases had to be manually configured, tested and integrated to a live environment with significant downtimes.

Third-party integrations and Canvas-based design

Along with Wavenet kVAS, Telco organisations can leverage other third-party or their own applications and other assets which can be onboarded via ahasa® - the drag and drop feature inside the canvas allows for a visual solution to be designed and built by the user. If required, some solution design components such as the kVAS SMPP service can be reused to minimise effort taken to deploy services.

Operators do not want to incur additional cost on any idle hardware or software, or unused human resources. The uVAS platform has an easy sign-up procedure which conducts a test run for this purpose, and then selects the right package for the business.
